ABOUT ME
Hello there! My name is Ange Lam, and I began my musical studies at the young age of 4, at the Yamaha Music School in Toronto. Throughout the years, I have taken classes in the Junior Music Course (JMC) stream, Junior Special Advanced Course (JSAC) stream, and then gone on to pursue further studies at the Senior Advanced Course (SAC) level. I have also completed my RCM ARCT Performer's Exam, as well as my Yamaha Teacher exams.

I hold a Bachelor of Music ('17) and Bachelor of Education ('18) degree from Queen's University, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I am a certified Yamaha and RCM teacher, and also have my teacher's qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers. Outside of piano teaching, I also teach English to children in China, and do occasional teaching in public schools through the York Region District School Board.

During my days as a Yamaha student, I was very honoured to have been invited to perform my own compositions at concerts both all around the world. I have had the pleasure of performing in various provinces throughout Canada, as well in the United States, Japan, and Thailand.

As a teacher, I value being able to bring out the best in each of my students and helping them reach their full potential. I understand that each family has different goals and aspirations for their child, and will work together with each family to develop a learning plan for their child's music education that best meets their needs, whether that'd be learning piano just for fun, or completing exams and competing in competitions and festivals. Ultimately, I want your child to learn to enjoy making music, and to be able to develop a toolkit of skills that will help them become successful adults beyond my music classroom.
